About Me
I was trained at the Royal Ballet School then performed nationally and internationally for 13 years with the Royal Ballet Company. I discovered Pilates towards the end of my dancing career through Jenny Bintley whose detailed teaching made a profound impression on me. I worked for 2 years in the City before training with Dreas Reyneke whose Notting Hill studio I subsequently ran for 5 years. I have been teaching clients privately ever since from my south London studio focussing principally on remedial work.
In 2016 I went back to study further with Alan Herdman, my old Royal Ballet School physio Shirley Hancock and Sara Gallie who heads up Alan's prestigious teacher training course, to further enhance my understanding of the precision required for effective injury prevention and recovery which has become my primary interest. Helping clients regain full functional movement and finding logical body engineering solutions is what thrills me most. I continue to teach one day a week at Alan Herdman's studio and feel incredibly fortunate to be a member of a team of teachers whose combined teaching experience runs into several decades of knowledge, ensuring the work remains constantly interesting, fresh and relevant.

" I was fortunate to come across the Pilates method quite early in my life, but even more fortunate to meet Christina Blackburn when she was running a Pilates studio a few years ago. Christina is not only a highly professional person but also a very good teacher with a deep knowledge of the Pilates technique and how to use it for the benefit of her clients. She has what seems to be an endless repertoire of exercises. She has helped me considerably in the recovery of issues caused by surgery. She would be a great help in the prevention and treatment of injuries. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anybody who is in need of assistance to keep their body in optimal condition." LB
